American coffee

American Coffee is considered a classic drink it consists of the mixture between espresso and hot water.

Peruvian barista Héctor Villanueva presents his American Coffee recipe, with a balance between taste, acidity and minimum bitterness, which leaves a quite pleasant taste on the palate.

Information

Type: Hot drink.

Difficulty:  Easy

Time: 5 minutes.
Yield: 6 Oz (180 ml).

Ingredients

E 19 gr fine ground coffee.

E 4.5 Oz (130 ml) of water at 92°C.

Equipment

E Espresso machine.

E Electric coffee grinder.

Preparation

E Fill the cup where the coffee is going to be served, with 4.5 oz (130 ml) of hot water at 92°C.

E Grind the 19 gr of coffee. Level it and compact it in the portafilter.

E Place the portafilter in the espresso machine and extract a double espresso coffee (doppio) directly in the cup with hot water.
