Coffee always fresh

If you are an amateur person or a casual consumer of this wonderful drink, you should know that the cooler the coffee, you can enjoy and perceive all the characteristic notes of it.

Coffee, like any natural product, degrades as time passes. Apart from this, coffee is very sensitive to certain conditions, such as temperature, humidity, among others, which, if not controlled correctly, accelerates its deterioration.

Here are 3 simple steps to always enjoy fresh coffee.

1. Close tightly

The coffee in contact with the oxygen of the environment reacts producing oxidation that gradually degrades the properties of the coffee.

If you store the coffee in a bag, remember to take as much air out of it and close it as tightly as possible. Zip-type bags are a very good alternative to store coffee.

Now, if you store the coffee in a plastic, glass or metal container, extracting the air is complicated, so it is best to close the container tightly.

2. Store the coffee in a cool and dry place

The kitchen is usually the main place where coffee is stored, however, in the kitchen, there are several sources of heat, such as stoves, oven, appliances, etc.

The heat degrades the natural oils of coffee, as the days go by. Be sure to store the coffee in a clean, cool and dry place, where there are no strong odors or exposure to sunlight.

3. Buy only what is necessary

Coffee, like any edible product, is degraded as a function of time. It gradually loses its characteristic properties such as fragrance, aroma, flavor, body and post taste.

This is why, to always enjoy fresh coffee, you must buy small amounts of it. Try to buy an amount that can last you a couple of weeks. You can determine that amount, depending on how much coffee you consume per day.

Let’s make a small example calculation.

Suppose you are a person who consumes 1 cup of coffee a day, this would be an average of 10 to 12 grams of ground coffee per day. This means that in 14 days (2 weeks) you consume 140 to 168 gr of ground coffee. If you drink more than 1 cup or prepare several cups of coffee at home for your family, you will need to buy more coffee.

We leave this table where we show you the quantities of coffee to buy every 2 weeks, depending on how many cups you prepare per day.
