What is Coffee tasseography?
Since the beginning of humanity, the human being has shown a fascination for knowing the future and being able to control the outcome of important events. From the prehistoric era, human beings used natural phenomena to predict the results of his hunting excursions.
Over time, the human being used anything to read and predict the future, such as looking at the stars, the ashes when a bonfire is extinguished, the position or patterns of the residue of a drink at the bottom of a cup, etc
The reading of the residues of a drink at the bottom of a cup is known as Tasseography, Tasseology or Tasseomancy. This name comes from the French word tasse (cup) and the Greek graph (writing), logy (the study of) and mancy (divination).
Tasseography is a term used to read the residues of a drink in general, at the bottom of a cup. This drink can be tea, wine or coffee. However, to refer specifically to coffee, the word Coffee tasseography is used.

It’s origin
In Armenia, Coffee tasseography is an art that is part of its culture and tradition, which has been transmitted from generation to generation, which is why there are no documents about the methods or the exact origins of this practice.
The first known work on the subject corresponds to the Florentine fortune-teller Tomás Tamponelli who wrote a manual on Coffee tasseography in the seventeenth century.
